Merritt Engineering Services is a locally owned civil engineering firm based in Waco, Texas, serving developers, municipalities, and private clients across Central Texas. We specialize in land development, drainage studies, subdivision design, site plans, and municipal infrastructure — with deep familiarity in McLennan County, City of Waco, Woodway, Robinson, and surrounding central Texas communities. As a small, PE-owned firm, you work directly with a licensed engineer from the first call to final deliverable — no project managers in between.
Kyle Stanislav — Senior Civil Designer
Kyle holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and brings over 13 years of hands-on design experience to every project. He joined Merritt Engineering in 2025 and works alongside Charlie through the full civil design process — from initial concepts to construction-ready plan sets.
Kyle's experience and technical foundation mean clients get serious design capability without the overhead of a large firm. At Merritt Engineering, every project benefits from two experienced sets of eyes and a team that is genuinely invested in getting it right.

I'm Charlie Merritt, a licensed Professional Engineer and founder of Merritt Engineering Services — a small, family-owned civil engineering firm based in Waco, Texas.
Before planting roots in Waco, I spent years with one of San Antonio's largest engineering firms, working on major drainage projects across the state of Texas and on international projects as far away as Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. That experience gave me a level of technical depth you don't typically find at a small firm — large-scale hydrologic modeling, complex infrastructure design, and the discipline that comes from working at the highest level of the profession.
Since 2012, I've been based in Waco, building a deep familiarity with Central Texas that only comes from doing the work here year after year. I know McLennan County. I know the City of Waco's submittal process. I know how water moves across this land. That local knowledge, backed by big-firm experience, is what we bring to every project.
